Business Manager

As the Business Manager for Rational Interaction’s consulting business, you will act as a strategic leader across all functional teams – helping to land broader initiatives, operationalize strategies within teams, and assist in executing the long-term vision for the business. As a member of the leadership team, you will be uniquely positioned to have visibility across all departments and people, and have a pulse on what the business needs and how best to deliver it.

What you will do:

  • Lead the business planning process for the consulting business line, setting goals, priorities and budgets quarterly.
  • Partner with the consulting leadership team to identify and allocate priority resourcing and budgets across the teams.
  • Manage the leadership and functional team ROBs to ensure that the work is aligned to priorities, accountabilities are being operationalized, and meetings are effectively orchestrated to meet internal and client needs.
  • Develop agenda and execute regular leadership team meetings, quarterly All Hands, morale events and offsite events.
  • Lead the partnership with the broader operations teams to enable effective people and talent management across the organization in support of business priorities.
  • Assist leadership team in defining new strategic initiatives for the team, and drive agile management of initiatives, streamlined processes.
  • Driving organizational design and headcount planning for the consulting business, defining most effective structure, roles, and compensation plans to meet the needs of the business.
  • Develop and execute a strong communications plan for the team, keeping teams informed and aligned on strategy and organizational changes. 
  • Drive analysis of Rational work health index results and build plans to improve overall employee satisfaction.
  • Act as an agent of change - you have high EQ, use your amazing communication and organizational skills to lead and influence.

What you will bring:

  • BA or MA degree in business management, finance, marketing or communications with 10+ years of experience in areas directly relevant to responsibilities described above.
  • Candidate ideally has experience working in a similar capacity within a consulting or staffing firm. Experience in dealing with clients, consultants, and procurement.
  • Strong financial acumen is a requirement along with strong business planning and project management skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to internal and external HR related inquiries and provide assistance, in-person, by phone and by email
  • Maintain employee records and ensure all employment requirements are met
  • Partner with other departments to ensure smooth on boarding and off boarding experience for employees 
  • Manage annual company processes such as feedback process, performance reviews, employee surveys, compensation reviews and more
  • Produce reports on people data as needed
  • Partner with payroll to ensure smooth process, resolve issues and ensure compliance
  • Support other functions as needed

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience in HR, preferably in more than one role. Preference given to experience with employees in multiple states.
  • Knowledge of human resources processes and best practices
  • High comfort-level and proficiency with HR databases, HRIS systems and MS Office 
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • High degree of comfort working with employees at all levels, communicating one-on-one and in group settings

In this role, you will ensure that project deliverables map to business objectives and will be responsible for maintaining the broad vision required for executing a project. This will include strategic thinking and leadership from beginning to end, as well as overseeing all the small details involved in fulfilling our commitment to client satisfaction. Being a Project Manager is a high-energy, detail-focused, and rewarding task.

What you will do:

  • Ensure project success within budget, timeline, and scope
  • Track communication from both Rational and Taipei stakeholders to produce a single email of all communications with clients from time of 10pm – 6am PT (1pm – 9pm TPE)
  • Provide meticulous documentation of project status, timelines, and feedback review

Working with teams across the studio to design, implement and deliver a wide variety of features from spec to screen, the Technical UX Designer is comfortable collaborating with individuals from any role, team, and level and is a master craftsman - you take paper ideas and make them real from start to finish.

What you will do:

  • Work with other Designers to create feature specs and flows to articulate the user experience to a wide audience
  • Collaborate with Producers, Engineers, Artists, and others to rapidly create playable prototypes
  • Implement and polish final on-screen experiences
  • Drive open communication across disciplines

  • 2+ years of experience as a designer/developer shipping games or consumer-facing services

We’re in search of a team member with real-time experience and a strong understanding of graphic design. This Developer will work effectively and collaboratively to meet project requirements in a deadline driven environment and lead the overall quality of all team deliverables. 

What you will do:

  • Be part of the graphics team delivering features to the fx, lighting, and environment content teams.
  • Prototype, maintain, extend, and implement graphics features with a high level of quality.
  • Work directly with content creators to make sure they are able to deliver AAA content.

  • Ensure that all transactions are properly approved and coded to the general ledger – including fixed assets and prepaid items
  • Perform month-end reconciliations for assigned accounts
  • Maintains vendor relationships and vendor records/database
  • Prepare annual Form 1099s and 1042s
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred; High school diploma required
  • 2 years of accounts payable experience required
  • Experience in “paperless” office environment
  • Detail oriented and ability to manage large volume of data with speed and accuracy
  • Experienced in Oracle, Workday or Great Plains.

We are currently looking for senior web developers with strong ASP.NET/C# experience for a client of ours in Redmond, WA.  This team is responsible for building out new features and functionality for our client's consumer facing cloud platform website.

  • Deliver new pages and experiences to azure.microsoft.com
  • Integrate front-end and back-end aspects of web application
  • Code UI/UX design wireframes
  • Provision/configure Azure services in the Azure management portal
  • Create scripts and cmdlets in PowerShell to help automate configuration tasks
  • Work with internal tools to report health status, live site issues, etc.

What you will bring:

  • GitHub experience
