Blog Project Manager (Technical)

As Project Manager at Rational Interaction, you will be responsible for client satisfaction, quality of work and project profitability. You will ensure that project deliverables map to business objectives. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the broad vision required for executing a project, including strategic thinking and leadership from beginning to end, as well as overseeing all the small details involved in fulfilling our commitment to client satisfaction. Being a Project Manager is a high-energy, detail-focused, and rewarding task.

This role is in service to the Microsoft Cloud +Enterprise marketing blog team - which is responsible for representing 70+ products and services via 60 blogs serving a variety of target audiences including technical decision makers, technical implementers, business decision makers and dev/ops personnel.

What you will do: 

  • Act as the blog development team’s key point of contact with Microsoft stakeholders and partners – including employees and vendors on the Cloud + Enterprise marketing team, members of various C+E product marketing teams, and the MSDN platform engineering team
  • Learn and become familiar with the underlying infrastructure and architecture of the MSDN/TechNet WordPress blog platform – and use that knowledge to inform your project planning and creation of test protocols
  • Manage the developers responsible for day-to-day execution of blog improvements and become knowledgeable re: the two WordPress themes that are in use by the C+E network of blogs
  • Document business goals and technical requirements and functional specifications for all projects
  • Provide leadership re: scoping, estimating, planning, executing, communicating status, and monitoring of blog development – which includes fixing bugs, improving UX, implementing new features, and testing all code changes – to ensure optimal awareness among stakeholders & project success within budget, timeline and scope
  • Plan and track project expenses, billing and invoices
  • Oversee the establishment and, if needed, adjustment of goals and milestones to execute and deliver against the project strategy throughout development life-cycle
  • Create and oversee project schedule; ensure timely completion of tasks through all phases; take lead on quality control issues; drive daily project team meetings
  • Provide regular written project status updates to team members - including recording the minutes, next steps and action items from recurring meetings with partners that include the C+E marketing team, blog publishing leads and the platform engineering team
  • As needed, coordinating with other vendors and teams who manage blog platforms used by C+E marketing beyond those on the TechNet/MSDN platform managed by Rational

What you will bring: 

  • 5+ years’ experience with WordPress
  • 4+ years of technical project management experience or equivalent education
  • Knowledge of HTML/XML is essential
  • Knowledge of JavaScript is a plus, as is any programming or website development experience
  • Proven ability to manage website developers and experience communicating to stakeholders and team members as a technical product/project manager
  • Knowledge of marketing, particularly social marketing and blogs
  • Expertise using SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel, Skype for Business, Outlook, and other communication technologies
  • Experience using Basecamp and/or Visual Studio would be helpful, but not required. You will use both of those tools in this role
  • Elementary understanding of how global scale enterprise networks are architected – including the use of caching, large-scale databases and regional data centers

What you will do:

  • Preparing, loading, managing, optimizing, and reporting on paid social media campaigns
  • Assisting with campaign and program-level reporting as it pertains to paid social campaigns
  • Assisting with pre-launch activities for paid social campaigns, such as communicating creative size needs, creating tracking links, establishing B2B targeting parameters, etc.

We are in search of a Global Delivery Manager who will lead the Microsoft Partner Resource Center and Client relationship as we recreate the partner experience, accelerating the transformation for Microsoft Partners. In this role, you will be responsible for taking an outside-in view of the partner experience to guide Program Leads, representing the voice of our partners and client. Global commercial acumen, ambition and a drive to create value for partners and Microsoft is essential for success in this role.

The mission of Partner Experience team is to innovate, inspire, and create an unparalleled experience for the Partner Community. This team will drive improvements through culture and accountability, partner satisfaction measurement, programs and initiatives across the Partner community. You will be responsible for communicating insights to the Client and building program recommendations focused on how to support the Partner experience strategy and business growth goals.   • Create and advance an “always-on” customer & partner-obsessive culture where employees are advocates, empowered to drive change, and rewarded for their actions. Ensure accountability lands across all roles

Project Manager, Product Marketing

Working as a part of the Business Operations teams, this person will have the ability to work cross-functionally touching multiple groups, evolving the project management organization.

Marketing Support

  • Support various conductors across the office organization who come to the Business Operations team for support on various marketing moments and events.
  • Bring new ideas to enable the evolution and continuously support the program
  • Triage the support level for Conductors by using the playbook built for hand off to ensure they are getting the support that they need based upon the level of the marketing moment (Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3)

PMO Support

The process being documented is API onboarding. It is effectively an API gateway - many different APIs exists "behind" it, and new partners are onboarding all the time. We have rudimentary documentation that guides them through this process, but the documentation has many gaps and lacks smoothness. The goal would be to deliver a full, end-to-end set of documentation (probably markdown-based, but we're open to discussing alternatives) that helps our partners to onboard in an entirely self-service fashion.

The ideal candidate MUST be able to work well under pressure with tight deadlines. This individual will need to be agile as direction changes frequently and adjustments will need to be made. At times, he/she will need to be available at “off” hours for review, staging, and publishing purposes.  

What you will do:

  • Responsible for eliciting and managing content and contributors for the C+E Blog Network
  • Partner closely with multiple stakeholders on the marketing-operations and engineering teams to solicit relevant content that includes news, up and coming features, how-to articles, etc.
  • Work side by side with the engineering team to integrate user feedback for maintenance and new feature requests to the C+E Blog Network to enhance functionality, look and feel as well as performance. File and track bugs and work items in Visual Studio Online database for the blog platform developers
  • Review ALL posts from contributors to ensure proper grammar, format, styling, etc. and know when to escalate to PR or Legal. Provide oversight of blog content consistent with marcomms and blogging best practices
  • Manage the C+E Blog Network content calendar by partnering with Contributors, PR and Social Media teams to maximize and drive engagement across all channels
  • Manage blog data and analytics tracking to measure success and provide to miscellaneous leadership teams
  • Provide Ad-hoc analytics reports to contributors
  • Schedule and run meetings as needed with follow up notes and action item management. Provide communications to inform various stakeholders on changes in procedures, authoring tools, or the blogging platform
  • Supported coverage will be M-F, 7am-5pm
  • General project and program management across primary efforts and as directed by the project sponsor
